YOU MAKE IT WORK.
“If everyone would offer 1% of their time, knowledge and income, we can structurally solve poverty”. With this idea the 1%CLUB was founded. The 1%CLUB is the online market place for development projects where you can directly offer 1% to a project of your own choice.

The 1%CLUB Foundation is an initiative of Anna Chojnacka and Bart Lacroix.
“The 1%CLUB is about power and powerlessness. We live in a world where economic means are very unequally divided. At least you can independently make sure that a part of our means ends up where you think it would be most useful!” - Anna Chojnacka.
“Through the website you can choose yourself which projects you want to support, so you know exactly where your 1% is going. The website combines Web 2.0 elements with the rise of people and organisations who want to contribute to development cooperation, and is therefore really in itself a form of International Cooperation 2.0” – Bart Lacroix.
The 1%CLUB aims to be a frontrunner in the area of International Cooperation 2.0 (PDF).
We are the first generation that has the knowledge and means to collaborate on a global scale. If all of us can write an online encyclopaedia (Wikipedia) together, than surely we should be able to solve poverty together!
Read all about International Co-Operation 2.0 in the 'Manifesto International Co-Operation 2.0' (PDF)
The 1%CLUB calculates a service fee of 1% per donation from individuals and 5% from businesses. The rest goes directly to the projects. Sponsors and grants further cover 1%CLUB’s own costs.
The 1%CLUB has developed the first version of the website with a start-up grant from NCDO. For 2009 and 2010 the 1%CLUB received a grant from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the category ‘young and renewing.
We are always looking for people and organisations that would like to support the 1%CLUB with 1% of their time, knowledge, income and network.
So join the 1%CLUB as well! Please contact us if you have a question or an idea.
